In summary, “breathing is our lifeline, it is something we do in the vicinity of 20000 times per day and it can impact many facets of our health. During this workshop you will learn the importance of correct breathing, the mechanisms involved and that breathing, the diaphragm, the core muscles and spinal stabilization are closely interrelated. There will be demonstrations of breathing techniques and exercises. Correct breathing continuously encourages healthier posture and a better functioning musculoskeletal system and nervous system. This workshop is beneficial for adults and children. We touch on mouth breathing, pain syndromes associated with poor breathing, the postural compensations of poor breathing patterns and other consequences of faulty breathing. Our guest speaker Dr Louis Chan, a leader in functional dentistry will tie in the impact of breathing on jaw alignment, teeth and sleep.”
